Aquatic Personal Training

 Work one on one with a Certified Aquatic Personal Trainer in the pool. Experience strength and cadiovascular fitness training using the resistance of water. Low, moderate or high intensity programs can be designed. Adult Swim Basics and Refinement:

*The 7PM Refinement class is for anyone that would like to clean up their strokes or learn new ones. *The 7:45 PM Basics class is for beginners who would like to become comfortable in the water. No experience is necessary.Age: 13 thru Adult Group Lesson Cost: $48 Member, $63 Non-member

DATES: Mondays June 3-July 8

 

Private Swimming Lessons

One on one time with an instructor and student available for any level of your choice.

Rates: For 1 single, individual—1/2 hour lesson Member: $22.00 each Semi-private for Members: $28.00 (limit 2 students) Guest: $35.00 each Semi Private for Guest: $41.00 (limit 2 students)

Purchasing a minimum of 3 lessons is recommended.

Kayaking, Tube Water Polo, Water Volleyball and more. This program is for kids 8-12 yrs old that are comfortable in the water without support. Homeschoolers- Gym and Swim

Homeschoolers, this is a great way to meet your physical education requirement. This class will offer a combination of sports games in the gym, health class- focusing on nutrition and exercise, and swimming skills. Two classes will run opposite of each other, one for older children and one for younger children. This program is scheduled to run Tuesday OR Thursday afternoons for a 6 week session. Note: You may sign up for one or two days a week. Class size is limited to 20ish, depending on family numbers. We like at least 10 participants per age group. AGES: 1st grade or age 6 to 8th grade. Children 5 and under are not age appropriate for Gym & Swim.  Contact NHRC front desk for details. 717-354-4747

Movie Night at the Pool- Floatin' Flicks

FLOATIN’ FLICKS -MOVIE NIGHT AT THE POOL Watch a movie At or In the pool. Play, swim or just float around in one of our inner tubes. Free for Members, $3 pool use fee for Guests. Open swim will end at 6:45pm, No one may remain in the Natatorium during movie set up. Pool Doors for the movie open at 7pm for the movie.  Floatin' Flicks will return in the fall when it is dark outside.

 American Red Cross Courses


American Red Cross Lifeguard course

The ARC lifeguard course will prepare you to work poolside. Students must be 15 years or older to take this course. Proof of age required. Pre-course swim: 300 yds. continuously ( 100 yds. Front crawl, 100 yds. Breaststroke,100 yds of both ) swim 20 yards and retrieve a 10# brick in 7-10 feet of water and swim on your back with brick in hands to entry spot and exit the pool. This course is 30 hours and All sessions must be attended. Pre-course Swim Test Cost: $20.00 pass/fail Lifeguard Course Cost: $260.00 pass/fail, includes all course materials. Total Cost: $280.00 Next course  June 16-22, 2013 Registration Begins May 1.   The Deep Water portion of this class will be held at Nickle Mines Pool, Paradise. Course Information

American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Course

Become a Red Cross Certified Swimming Instructor. This 30 hour course is for people with a strong background in swimming. Pre-course requirements: 16 yrs. or older, must be able swim strokes at a Red Cross Level 4 competency. Fundamentals of Instructor Training (FIT) is required and will be taught during the course. This course will run Mon/Thurs nights with the exception of Sunday, April 14.  All classes must be attended, no exceptions.

EMS SAFETY SERVICES CPR AND FIRST AID CERTIFICATIONS

CPR/AED for Community Rescuers

The purpose of the American Red Cross CPR/AED program is to help participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac and breathing emergencies. This course covers adult, child, infant CPR/AED. Two year certification. Course Dates Available:  CPR/AED for Proffesional Rescuers  May 11, 8am-1pm; Monday, June 3, 8am-12noon, Cost: $50.00 mem, $65.00 guest

First Aid

This course provides you with the information to provide care at a basic level of training. We will cover sudden illnesses, environmental emergencies, bone and joint damage etc. Two year certification. CPR for BUSINESSES OR CORPORATIONS

Do your employees need to be CPR certified? NHRC can provide CPR certification classes or review certification to your employees at your site or ours. We offer CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Community CPR. Certifications are good for two years unless you need CPR for lifeguarding. Wild & Fun Cardboard Box Boat Race

Build your boat out of cardboard and duct tape then climb inside and paddle down the pool and back. It’s a wild time with lots of laughing and sinking. Well, some float, depends on how well you build your boat. Need something fun to do on a cold winter day? Come to our pool and watch or participate in the race. Race packets, available at the NHRC, have the guidelines for building and racing your boat. NHRC waiver must be filled out. If you are planning to watch the race dress for our indoor pool weather, 85 degrees.
